How BananaPatterns works?
We run a handful of screens — each hunts a different kind of setup. Pick one to see its anatomy — what it looks for, and why.
The anatomy of a breakout
How we narrow the market down
The trade, once it triggers
Cut losers fast, let winners run
Risk is decided before entry — about 1.5% of capital on any one trade. From there it's calm and consistent: protect first, then give a winner room to breathe.
We're thinking of building a proper course — the full playbook, real worked examples, and how to actually run it without losing your shirt. We'll only build it if enough people want it. Tell us you're in.
About us
Chart patterns, explained simply.
BananaPatterns is a small, honest place to learn how certain shapes show up again and again in stock charts — explained in plain English, using real examples from Indian companies. We don't give tips or tell you what to buy. We just try to help you understand what you're looking at, at your own pace.
Honestly? This isn't a fund, and it isn't a robot firing off signals. It's a personal project — built by someone learning to read these patterns the same way you are, who got tired of the hype and wanted to see the plain version: the losses shown next to the wins, the method laid bare, nothing dressed up.
The screening runs on a computer because a person can't watch 4,000 charts a night — but the thinking behind it is old, human, and hard-won: be patient, cut mistakes quickly, and give the rare good idea room to run. If anything here is unclear or feels off, tell us — support@bananapatterns.com.
No tips, no hype
No buy-or-sell calls, no promises of quick money — just how one common pattern behaves.
The whole picture
Patterns don't always work. We show the wins and the losses — nothing cherry-picked.

The base it is in
Reliance Infrastructure has been building a base for 41 weeks, 86% deep from its high inside that range, under a ceiling at ₹417. It closed at ₹73.45, 82.4% under that pivot — a close above it is what sets the setup off.
Inside the base, the swings in the second half of the base ran 0.44× the first half — tightening, which is the contraction the pattern is named for; and trading volume through the base ran 0.87× its earlier pace, so it went quiet as the range narrowed.
What its strength reading says
Relative strength 2 means Reliance Infrastructure has outrun 2% of every liquid stock on the Indian market over the past year. That is lower-half performance — it has lagged most of the market.
Price sits −5.0% against its 50-day average and −62.9% against its 200-day.
It is 82% below its 52-week high and 22% above its 52-week low.
Where it sits in its industry
Reliance Infrastructure is one of 30 companies we track in Power, within the Integrated Power Utilities subgroup. That industry ranks 45th of 56 by relative strength, and 1 of its companies broke out of a base this week.
Others in the same industry, strongest first: Adani Energy Solutions (relative strength 91), Acme Solar Holdings (relative strength 82), Adani Power (relative strength 78), Adani Green Energy (relative strength 73), NLC India (relative strength 57), JSW Energy (relative strength 50).
Its market value is about ₹3,178 crore, and it has been listed for 29 years.
Its 2026 record
Reliance Infrastructure has not completed a breakout in 2026; the base above is the one it is building now.
How to read this page
Every figure here is read off the daily record after the close: the base and its ceiling come from the price history, relative strength ranks this stock against every other liquid Indian stock, and the breakout dates are the sessions on which price closed above the pivot. BananaPatterns is an educational tool for studying chart patterns — this page describes what the chart has done, and says nothing about what it will do next.
